Okay so this is an addition to the blog for the last jolie-pitt story. I just want to say congrats to the couple for their additions to their family. Those kids have beautiful names and I hope they don’t become jaded by being followed around by the pops all the time…I mean they are hot commodities since their pictures are being sold to the highest bidder and and bids start at 11 million freakin dollars…but congrats, those kids will never have to worry about affording college…their births paid for it all…I wish the rest of us had that.

My Dream Job = Goal

Okay I have decided that what my dream job is is…dun dun dun…being a dance physical therapist. I want to work with perfessional dancers and performers. I was initially thinking about it and I liked the idea but I wasn’t sure it fit with keeping my art enough. So I thought about it and prayed about it and I think I will. This doesn’t mean that I will give up on the acting thing…because its become a new glorious artistic challenge that I love. Its stretched me more than I have ever been stretched artistically…but I have a new path and if I can be successful and work with people on broadway or in conservatories and be a permanent staff there it would make me happy. So I want to do that. I found a place in New York that specializes in dance medicine…thats soo awesome! And its in freakin New York. If I can get a clinical there, I would love it, then I can have a base in New York, get experience there, maybe when I graduate get licensed there (and California of course), and then when I get enough experience I can go for that goal. I will still have art, be around artists, and maybe take extension classes at Juliard for Operatic singing…and work on doing that on the side. I could also taking acting classes on the side and do community theatre or smaller theatres in New York in off-broadway productions that don’t require as much time. If I find that my art is being stiffled then I can focus on that while I have experience in my field and have contacts I can go further in my art. It seems like a good plan but we’ll see what life has in store for me…but for now, I feel sooooo good about this dance pt thing. So thats my dream job and I don’t just dream I strive for that so when I wake up, they are still there before me.

Art…Pure…Art

Doesn’t that sound beautiful?…well it does to me. To be able to do…to be purity in art for the rest of your life…it just sounds wonderful. But people seem to taint the idea of art being pure. People with their attitudes of superiority and dislike of such a field that they are in (just because they are good at it). Thats not art to you, thats skill…and thats different. If you have both skill and art within its such a beautiful thing to do it that you shouldn’t have to put on a front of an attitude. I dispise those attitudes…I wish life was simpler and all the true artists can just live and do their art without all those falsifiers. blah. Thats all I had to say because I’m so aggravated with just that issue. blah. I wanna dance it out….I need an empty studio like now.

Opening Night

lol opening night of History of Rock and Roll III: Born in the USA was a blast…even though some of my quick changes were a little rushed…and thats an understatement lol. But it was fun…and we SOLD OUT + SOME. We had to open up the back seats and the pit seats…its was crazy but I loved that! I hope we sell out every weekend! Now that would be fun! The audience loved it too. But yea it was fun…now I’m just tired. But call time is 7pm so I’m gunna rest today

One Week to Opening…

So I haven’t written in awhile…why is that you ask…because we started Tech week for History of Rock and Roll. It begins in exactly a week and my stomach is tied in a knot. I’m so excited and scared but I had fun at yesterday’s rehearsal. It was the first time we did costuming and it was hilarious. All the guys’ clothes were rockin’. They really did look like models…well sometimes. lol. I accidentally told them that and they were like “I do… right”. I could just see their heads getting bigger. I have learned my lesson…boost ego only to a point then u have to poke hole in it every now and then just to let some of the air out…or they do that themselves (eg someone falling over a chair backstage…or doing embarrassing things in front of people they didn’t mean to lol). I love all those guys. I’m going to miss them when the play is over in Aug.

Anyway I started talking to my new roommate and she seems pretty cool. I don’t know what shes into, hopefully shes artsy because then we can get excited about some of the same things. She likes my abc shows and more so thats a good sign…yay Grey’s Anatomy and Deparate Houswives! So I think she’ll be cool but its her first time living out of the house so I’ll try to make it as pleasant and fun as possible….because I aim to please *ding*

I also found this dance studio called Lula Washington Dance Theater but the only problem is that it is in South Central Los Angeles…on Crenshaw…so not the best area in the world. But it links in with one of the big dance heads at UCI (I recognized his name from the Jazz 3 class teacher list…yay), and Harlem! So if I make a career of Dance Physical Therapy alongside performing I think I can make connections that way…if I don’t get shot first. lol…kinda.

Anyway if you are going to be in the area make reservations and check us out at Spotlight Theatre and Cafe in the third installment of History of Rock and Roll starting July 4th at 4pm – Aug 9 every thurs at 7pm, and Friday and Saturday at 8pm http://www.theatreap.com/ . Odd Children…

Ok me and my cousin were talking today and I decided to write it out because its just funny. Ok you know how the Jolie-Pitt family is supposed to be the most beautiful one “in the world”…ok whatever…I mean they are beautiful people but to make a generalization because they are famous is kinda absurd. Anyway, we were noticing how in none of the pictures of the children are they smiling…in fact, they look a small bit pissed…at having their picture taken! At this young age they are jaded already. Its like “No pictures please, why are you taking my picture without paying 3 million…I’m worth more than you can every pay or dream of having in your savings account”. Even the pictures that seem like a posed picture, ones where you would think you can get a small child to giggle or even laugh and give you a decent smile, they look around like they can’t stand to be there. No hint of a smile….in fact, I have NEVER seen a smile come from ANY of their children. Is that odd…i think so.

I admit that little girl, Shiloh, is a gorgeous little girl but to be jaded so early is kinda sad. But she will be wary of the press for a good reason. They are getting really bad when hounding down the celebrities just to get a quick pic of a private moment just to sell an article…its kinda sick. But as long as people buy, people try.

But I just thought it was interesting that I have never seen a Jolie-Pitt child smile…

Just Plain Tired…

Ok so the first week of classes at BC is done. Thank God! omg I’m so exhausted from going to work then class then rehearsal for History of Rock and Roll…and I’m emotionally drained and therefore emotionally flat when I’m supposed to be crying…well balling in one of my scenes. I’m just so tired. I give it to actors that come in after a long day and just bring it out. I’ll get there, I just need more practice and time. But our first run – through was good for it being our first run – through with the singers actually singing the songs instead of just to the music…they just had the tracks! It was cool except when we couldn’t hear it. Some of the tracks seemed a little off though from the original song. Some of them seemed slower and some seemed faster and some didn’t have the extra beats in there…but the singing director insisted that it wasn’t the songs that were different, it was us speeding up and slowing down the tempo…im sure it was the songs. But this year the History of Rock & Roll might be just under 2 hours!!! Ok if you have never seen it, you don’t understand. They usually have sooo many acts that it runs for like 3 hours so to have it under 2 hours, people will be so shocked. And this time, it has an actual story – line…not just doing remakes of old songs and dances to them. So its going to be exciting. I can’t wait for us to be done and to get everything and to show it…I’m so excited for the audience to see it and feel the way the characters feel. yay soo exciting! We have some awesome people in the show and when we all put the emotion in it, we will be awesome. I love those guys.

I kinda wish I was staying in Bakersfield another year so I could do more shows and get my stage legs more…plus it would be so fun to do the plays without so much pressure and just have fun and learn. Thats why I’m going to have to find a community theater in Los Angeles to hone my skills and find people to just have fun with and learn from.

Next week in my persuasive communication class we are having a “board meeting” where we have to research a topic and each present our side of the story to the board. There are 4 groups and 4 people in each group and each person’s speech has to be 3 minutes long. And each has to be presented in such a way as to boost up the other’s speech so that the board sees it as a whole story and agrees with what you are saying. Our topic for next week…dun dun dun…Medical Research on Prisoners…and we are pro. Ok first off, I don’t really agree with that and I think it will really kill me to support it because of all the crap black people went through and how alot were put in prison (at least before during the 60′s – 80′s) wrongfully and so using them as lab rats isn’t my cup of tea…but it will be a stretch for me. I’ll just pretend like I’m some cold-hearted conservative person who doesn’t care for those stupid prisoners (they should have known not to do those things even though each situation is different) and then present it like that. OMG I hate this. Ok back to happier thoughts…

Oh yea, I finally called Frick Photography back about doing headshots because I didn’t know if my friend would be able to do it when I got there because she told me that she would have to do it when she was free…and then I might not be free so yea…its only like 200 dollars difference and he comes with an agency referral…so we’ll see how this goes. ( I’ll prolly still go with my friend though. Because well…shes my friend)

I was just thinking about life and stuff and I decided that I should do what I feel passionate about. I love the fact that I have physical therapy to fall back on and as a part-time gig I’ll be making good money until my artistic career jumps forward. I have decided to give it a full go. If I fall flat on my face, oh well at least I tried. And I will go away from this life saying that I didn’t just let my dream be a dream but I tried to live it to the best of my abilities. I will keep art/singing/dancing/acting in my life because its in my spirit and I can’t live without it.

Classes Start

Okay now we enter a new phase of my life…the student files. Its kinda like the x-files but way more boring. So I’m taking this Communications class called Persuasive Communication. Its pretty interesting and it talks about how we are all persuaded by EVERYTHING to do EVERYTHING…blah blah blah. And the professor is kinda awkward…so much for being a communications major. He must not have learned that much. Anyway, I shouldn’t complain. I could end up like him someday. * Knocking on wood as I speak* Anyways I love people. People are such interesting creatures…kinda aggravating sometimes but overall interesting.

Anyway, since yesterday was the start of class, my teacher let us out early so I jetted to my History of Rock and Roll (III): Born in the USA rehearsal where I learned that I was glad to be the dancer and not one of the singers in the show…but I have this really hard scene where I’m supposed to be sad that my ex-fiance is killed in war and we are having his funeral where they are folding his flag…and I’m supposed to be balling…ok heres the issue: I have that emotion especially walled up so I’m trying to figure out how to break it just a little so my part can be believable. *Sigh* well I still love acting. Its a challenge and I love it because of it. I really want to take acting classes so I can be really good…but for now, I’m working off of basically no acting training besides having done Bye Bye Birdie through the Bakersfield Music Theater but I think im pretty good for that much. I have set the date or time in my head when I want to take acting class in LA. Its in October. I’ll either take it through the Acting Corps or if I don’t have a whole lot of time while I’m in school, I’ll take a 1 – 2 day a week class then when I graduate, I’ll do the 5 day a week one when I get a part – time job. Thats my plan…we’ll see how it goes…

So on with my story…After practice is over, I realize that we have homework…from the book…that I haven’t bought. Ha ha so me and my mom jet down to the BC bookstore in order to realize that hey its closed…u suck BC bookstore u suck. Anyway so after my cousin told me that they open at 7:30am, my small freakout session ended and I decided to wake up extra early to buy it. So I did…and there was a line from like 7:00 and then it went around the corner at like 7:15am…you guys are crazy. But I was there hecka early so I can’t talk. lol. But I got my book dang it! All 120 dollars worth of nothin book but I got it! haha!

So so far no disasters. I finished my homework which took me like 2 1/2 hours and now I’m writing this, again, at work. lol. I don’t have anything to do but I’m always hoping that I don’t get caught even though I’m not supposed to be doing anything anyway. blah. whatever. Well I’m out…ta ta for now.

Bursting Out

Ok so as you may have read on my post about myself, I am kinda in a wierd limbo. I am an artist who cannot live without art and a scientist on the side…lol usually the other way around. Well I have been thinking about life in general and how I want to live it. I mean I only have one so I should live it to the fullest extent possible…squeezing all the happiness I can out of it…right? Well I agree. I believe that life should not be wasted on doing the wants of others on your life…so I therefore am going to do what have always dreamed and I am going to try my hand in whatever life has to offer me…whether it be in acting (mostly stage plays and musicals), music (vocals – singing), or dance. I’ll try it all and hopefully I can do my best in them. I mean why have triple threat abilities and waste them while doing some job that doesn’t use any skill…I feel they are God-given, why waste. So my long term goal is to be a part – time physical therapist or personal trainer and full – time musical theater actress. I’ll be working on my skill and my dream and hopefully it won’t get lost. And you will travel through this with me…yay lol. well thats it for my first post…must get back to work.
